About

3dprintsjsu documents and showcases student projects from SJSU’s dsIT 103 and 109 classes. The focus of the projects is on developing facade and window elements, primarily rigid curtains or curtain walls that take advantage of 3d printing as a fabrication technique.  The curtains that we have developed are designed to respond to solar and programmatic conditions. Designs also embrace issues that relate to context and identity and play with the optical effects in the interior space. The designs have been created using MODO 601 and Rhino and evaluated using Ecotect. We have also 3D printed elements of each curtain using either a zcorp 310 printer, and FDM Type A Machines and the BFB3000.
